From start to finish we are here to make the process an easy, and enjoyable experience.
Our Process
Our goal is to present a clear process to our customers. From the early design stages to finished metalwork we want our customers to feel confident they picked the right shop for their project.
Over the years we have developed, revised and adapted our business to deliver great customer service. Scroll down to see a step-by-step guide to our process.
Planning
Design
Ideas, Options, and Fabrication Drawings.
Concept Development
Concept development is about discussing your ideas and presenting you with design options.
We are happy to meet on-site with customers, contractors or designers to help add to the collaboration and offer our trade experience at this stage or you are welcome to stop by the shop to look at materials, and finish options.
Design Development
Design Development is all about taking what was discussed conceptually and bringing it together into one communicable design that can be understood, reviewed, & approved by the customer. Ensuring a smooth, and efficient process.
For this we utilize 3D Modeling software to design your project with all its components, features, and details. This is the most important step as this will create the final set of fabrication drawings that get sent to the shop floor for production.
Note: Although we are happy to make revisions to submitted fabrication drawings it is important to know we will bill hourly for all revision sets produced.
Quoting
What's this going to cost?
Soft Cost Estimating
The purpose of "Soft Cost Estimating" is to present the customer with a general budgetary number based off of the "concept development" so that they can decide prior to the "design development" stage if they want to proceed with having us produce the necessary fabrication drawings for their project.
Note: Fabrication Drawings take time to produced and are billed for at "current hourly rates" whether or not you choose to proceed to fabrication. It is important to us that you do not begin incurring a bill before you have a reasonable idea of the project cost.
Hard Quoting
Once fabrication drawings are produced our "scope of work" is defined and we can now provide you with a "Hard quote" that will be the final cost of your project.
Note: We will hold are quotes for 30 days under "good business practices" however we reserve the right to change our quote at any time prior to the quote being approved, signed/dated & returned via mail or email.
Approval & Deposit Payment
Once you have approved the "Fabrication Drawings" and "Hard Quote" we will need a couple things from you.
- Quotes need to be signed/dated and returned via mail or email.
- Confirmation that you wish to proceed with the current set of fabrication drawings. (These are attached to quotes, and have "Revision A, B, C, etc. to identify)
Note: by signing the quote you approve you have reviewed the fabrication drawings current revision and wish to proceed with fabrication.
Note: Once received we will send a 51% deposit invoice.
Fabrication
Getting to work and making it great!
Scheduling
Once we have received your approved quote and deposit payment we will proceed with ordering all materials, scheduling powder coating, and any other services required to complete your project.
You will receive the following via email.
- Fabrication schedule (start date & estimated completion date.)
- Scheduled Powder coating (Date/week)
- Estimated Delivery/Installation (Date/week.)
Note: we will "NOT" order any project materials, schedule other services (powder coating, equipment rentals etc.) prior to receiving your deposit payment.
Production
Once your material order arrives, we will begin fabrication and send it out to be powder coated.
Note: You are welcome at any step of the way to stop by and see how your project is coming along or request pictures of materials, finished components, or completed fabrications.
Delivery/Installation
Once your order is complete, we will schedule delivery and/or installation with you.
Should your project require us to schedule crane services and/or rental equipment for installation those services will only be schedule once your project is finished being fabricated.
We are always happy to work in tangent with any other trades for a smooth installation if it is more efficient or cost effective to the project to do so, however it is the responsibility of the contractor/customer to coordinate this.
Note: It is the responsibility of the contractor to supply a material lift and operator if noted on quote for delivery or installation.
Completion
Closing out a project.
Final Walkthrough
We want to make sure you are happy with everything about our work. If requested, we are happy to schedule a final walk though after installation has been completed to "Quality Check" the finished product and address any issues that you are concerned with.
Billing Procedures
Our billing procedures follow the progress of the project. See step-by-step billing procedure below.
